it has to be ps3 due to thats its HOME ... gta on xbox doesn't sound right ... it started on playstation it should stay on playstation

well if R* do a good job and have enough time, then they should be able to use the slightly more powerfull graphics card on the xbox 360 with the triple core (multithreading) to make the game awesome looking and play smoothly, but with the ps3, the cell which is slighly more powerfull and the grahpics chip they have could also make a great game.
i think the xbox 360 will look slightly better but the ps3 version might have slightly better physics and othethings things like more people on screen at once.

well i don't know about that because the ps3 will have the "blue-ray" and the xbox360 will have a "HD-DVD"
Blue-ray=25GB (dual-layer)50GB
HD-DVD=15GB (dual-layer)30GB
DVD=4.7Gb

so I think that the Ps3 will have more detailed and better graphics then the xbox360
(GTA:SanAndreas was on a 4.7 DVD so if it was on a Blue-ray it would be crazy!!!!!)

sorry very wrong, i will explain, first off dvd whcih xbox 36 is using had 9G on it not 4.7G. seconly blue ray in no way will help graphics or even size of games, it will only help developers of the games as thery can be a little sloppy when making the game.
this link explains why there is no difference in blue ray from dvd when it comes to games. basically the only reason sony put it in there is so that they win the the next format war by forcing you to buy it.

who cares it will still prob look best on a high end pc
the gta series is so lame now anyway, unless they add some sort of online play it will just be the same stuff with a diff theme.

i have to say that ftaer watching heavely sword on ps3, i am very imporessed, the graphics are gret maybe not as good a mass effect, but deffinatly next gen, and for me until now the best ninja game has always been ninhja gaiden, but i have to say that this game out does that one by miles, some of the stuff you can do is amazing. i really want to get a ps3, but the will is looking so much better, so i think i will still have to go with that.

The persn that wrote about the DVD9 is a 360 supporter and I dont think all of that is 100% true. Look around and you will see the truth.The graphics on the ps3 are much better.
Now the Getaway is a game much like GTA right? So these are pics of the getaway for the PS3 look at the graphics.(I am 99.9% sure that the graphics will be just as good in game play)
So if the getaway looks like this,then GTA4 should be rather the same/good graphics.

Blu-ray is definately a selling point for the PS3, but it has nothing to do with better graphics.
Microsoft has said that there will be exclusive content on their version via xbox live, but I'm not sure how much that would tip the scale.
I'd say they will be almost exactly the same.

When they make the same game but for different consoles (e.g GTA:SanAndreas for ps2,xbox and pc,douse the same company or team of people do it or is it different people for each console version?

Stefan001 how do you figure the ps3 having much better graphics, from what i can see gears of war, shadowrun and mass effect have yet to be chalenged in graphics by the ps3, yuou just asume that the ps3 will have better graphics b/c you want it too.

It's the same publisher (company). I'm not exactly sure how a porting process works, but only one team develops the game.

I dont and I dont care about ps3 because i will get a pc to do my job or a ps3 or both maby nintendo but Xbox360 fu***d me so the day of me gatting one is not goig 2 be soon.
And yeah i just saw gameplay of gears of war on G4/E3 and its nice its breath taking but I also saw the ps3 graphics and its just as good or even better in some games.
lets not forget that Xbox had a 1year hed start! so next year at E3 the ps3 is going to be KILLER!

but thats what i am saying even though xbox 360 has been out for a year when ps3 releases, but you forget that ps3 devs have had since last years e3 to do what xbiox 360 luanch games did not, they were ll rushed.

*edit* oh the getaway, yeah that does look good, but from some of the pics you can see major 2D images of buildings,it feels like if you were to lean against any of them then they will fall flat like paper, which compared to even gta is bad.

seriously ppl why does it matter if it is a ps3 or a 360 game, GTA was originally and has always been a great pc game. The console versions never came close. I played san andreas on PC, xbox and ps2 and it was much better on pc simply because of the aiming and the optional personal control mapping. It will also be much cheaper on PC. Finally you can get kickarse mods and skins on the net for the pc version. It makes sense to buy it on pc!

well, i have call of duty 2 on both xbox 360 and pc, and i prefer the xbox 360 one mainly b/c i am a console person, but you might be a pc person.

Games on the PC is old and out dated.Alot of the Graphics depend on how your PC is setup so some people just dont get the full spec from a PC game.Just give me a stand alone system not something that depend on how i build it.

The bad thing is you need to wait for GTA4 to come out on the pc
:(
And another bad thig is, is that GTA:4 is going to have crazy graphics so you need a CRAZY/New $2,500 pc to run the game.
I love pc b/c I play GTA SanAndreas on both pc and ps2. And the graphics are the best on pc rather then xbox and ps2.

yeah but there is also the massive multiplayer mod that allows up to 100 ppl to fight online in one city or to do fun team missions. This has never been included in the game and is only possible thanks to pc modders creating a unique pc experience
