I recently bought the philip DVDR3390 and it wont copy copywrited dvds can someone give me some advice and email it to me asap thanks alot i appreciate it my email is please name the email Philips Dilemma i appreciate it all

Please edit out your email addy it is against forum rules, just use the edit button on the right of the yellos bar of your post. As for your recorder, no DVD Recorder will not copy copyrighted DVD's. I have a Panasonic and the fw stops anything that is copyrighted from being backed up.

my buddy has a pioneer recorder and it plays the movie stores it then you put a blank disc in it and it records it please give me some help on this matter

Well maybe your buddy's recorder is different, but mine will neither copy to the built in HDD or to disk. You will get the message "copying of this material is not allowed". If you want to backup your legally owned DVD's you are better off using a PC. If you want to record a movie then get it from PPV so far this still works, for now.
