Why wont my rewritable disk be rewriten!?!

I am using a Sony DRU-10a and erased a mirror DVD+RW inside of nero which took abot 25mins. Looked in explorer and there were no files visible on the disk - but when I went to burn something else onto it it says it is not a rewritable media! Do you think this is the disk or burner or software. And what do u guys use to format your disks?? Thx.

Hello
I only use Roxio6 to erase discs, but Nero shouldn't be that bad. Try again, remove the disc, insert a completely different disc, let that disc be reconized, remove it and reinsert the erased disc. If that doesn't work try formating the disc again. I have only had a similar problem with DragN'Drop, but after eraseing with Roxio6 was all good. I now only use Roxio6, and have never tried Nero. Good Luck.

If you have a rewritable disc, Nero should recognize it as such and after the little window telling you that this is not an empty disc pops up, wait a couple of secs and then another window should pop up asking you if you want to write over the stuff you have on the disc.

I'm using Nero 5.5.10 and using a sony dru-500ax

You don't have to erase with nero as it'll just overwrite the disc.
