following the DVD2Divx 5.0 guide.

I used DVD2AVI to get the WAV file from the VOB file. This worked fine and i can listen to the WAV in winamp or whatever and it sounds fine and is in the right language etc.
WAV file size here is around 1gig.

I then used CDex 1.5 to convert the file from WAV to WAV wrapped MP3, Riff-WAV, whatever!.
The problem is that if i now listen to the new WAV file (around 150mb) it has horrible sounds, noise, like a screeching sound. Particulartly when people are talking.

It may be worth noteing, that to get CDex to open without crashing winXP, i had to paste the following line into the CDex.ini file.

WinEncoder=0

Is this meant to happen? And if not what have i done wrong?
