UNABLE TO BURN A DVD

Every time I try to copy a DVD I get this error message when it is time to burn the DVD.
ERROR: Cannot initialize the recorder for writing.
;Illegal request reported by DVD recorder.
;Driver error code = 02052400h.
;The disc is not successfully recorded.
Can anyone help ? I'm not sure what the problem is.

Hello
What type of Burner do you have?
what program are you using to burn a DVD with?
The driver error code is a generic one that usually means firmware not up dated, but thats garbage. Most likely the progam you are using to burn with dosen't reconize your burner. After you answer the first two questions, I can help you a little more.

I have a toshiba dvd-rom/r/rw and I'm useing DVD X Copy version 1.5.2 software. I think the DVD burner model is SD-R6012. It came with the computer.

Do you have Nero 5.5 latest? If so go to 'Advance options' and make sure to check that Nero is the chosen burner. Also check in properties that DVDXCopy is set to be compatible with your OS. Might possibly help.

I've been using DVD X Copy since February...no problems...my cheap DVD's burned just fine using my Matshita burner...the only complaint I had was that most movie took 2 DVD's. Tonight I downloaded DVD X Copy Express and all of sudden I'm having problems. My first DVD only burned the WB insignia and about 15 seconds of script and I got a disk error message (that disk is toast). Then I put in another DVD and it wouldn't recognize it, so I put in another and so on. I finally used my RW DVD and it wouldn't recognize it either. I resorted back to the DVD X Copy program and everything is fine...I don't understand why I'm having problems with the new DVD X Copy Express. My brother just updated his DVD X Copy today to and he's already backed up 14 movies. PLEASE HELP!

Try uninstalling and re-installing. Also check that it is compatible with your OS (go to properties and check under compatibility). If problem persists contact 321.

Thank you! I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now I get a "disk error" message, but after I click OK, it burns the disk anyway. I guess I should watch the movie and see how it looks. I appreciate your help and I think it's a good idea to contact 321, because it's still not quite right.
