Where do u live?

If you're in the states check out supermediastore.com or newegg.com. If you're in Canada (like me) then try www.blankmedia.ca.

Tayo Yuden is the best. Verbatim's are close 2nd. Maxell/Sony/Fuji(made in Japan)are next.

If you're burner can booktype then get any of the above in +R format and booktype to DVD-Rom. Check online to see if you need to update the firmware on your burner too. Google action.

phillips is not recommended. Good budget media would be ritek. Verbatim and taiyo yuden are the best. Do a search on the -r and +r. This has been asked and answered 100's of times. Briefly +r is the newer of the two and has one advantage the ability to be booktyped dvd-rom (your dvdrw drive has to be capable of bitsetting/booktyping) and also a little better technology. If the +r's aren't booktyped dvd-rom then -r's are a little more compatable with older set top dvd players. Here's a good read http://www.cdfreaks.com/article/113

About all you can find now is 8x and 16x. Buy whatever speed is the cheapest and burn them at 1/2 their rated speed for starters. Increase burn speed to 8x if all goes well but I wouldn't burn faster than 8x.
