My friend just got his PSP but its a ver. 2.7 (lucky mine is 1.5).
I tried to insert my memory stick to his PSP but it is not able to run the emulators.

Is there a way to downgrade the firmware from 2.7 to 1.5 in order for him to use the emulators to play UMD games?

Please help.... Thanks!!!

NO and there NEVER will be. The only version that is available to be downgraded is 2.0. 2-2.6 can run homebrew using GTA. ISOs are only useable to people on version 1.5.
