Hey guys,

well i had my PSP at 1.5 but my 4gb hard drive went bad(has this happened to neone else) so i decided i wanted to play some GTA for the time being so i used the WAB version changer to change it to 2.0 then then GTA disc wouldnt boot(apperantly this thing down work for crap) so i put it back to 1.5 and was going to use the 2.0 update on teh UMD but i cant access it now, nor can i upgrade to 2.0 if i put the 2.0 eboot on my memcard. Has neone else run into this problem and how did u get around it? Id like to know so i can play GTA before i save up some money for a 2gb stick

The Wab version changer makes the PSP think that it's a different version that it is. Most games that require 2.0 simply just check the PSP and check to verify that it's version 2.0. So Wab is good for those games that just simply check the firmware version. However, GTA was the first game that actually required 2.0 because of the syscalls(system calls) in that firmware. The syscalls enabled GTA to play and those specific syscalls were lacking in 1.5.

On another note, the Datel 4gb hard drive is shit. Don't use it ever. It's more useful sitting in a landfill than it is in your PSP.

yea, i noticed the 4gb was a POS.. ne info on getting my PSP back to normal though or did i brick it or something? I cant seem to run any eboot even when i tried to run the eboot for 1.5. And unfortunately im stuck on a 32mb card so i cant test if ISOs run but UMD em 8 works fine

If you haven't already, change the WAB version changer back to 1.5. Then format your memory card and restore default settings. Reinstall the 2.0 eboot and try it again.

Just use MPH Game Loader to play the GTA UMD.

Who cares if he upgrades. He can still downgrade and he can play multiplayer and use the web browser.

well.. i have no idea wtf happened but i just put down the psp for a while and had it in my cradle.. came back to it an hour later turnd it on to try the mph thing and bam, its asking me to upgrade ot play teh gta umd that was in there.. and its updating now... wonder wtf was up
