whenever i try to play my xvid or just plain ol' avi, the video blinks and doesnt stop. its annoying me. and if any one can help me, please do. i have downloaded xvid codec but still no go. it just keeps on blinking and doesnt stop

Sounds like a rogue codec, lol, did you ever install any codec packs?? also what are you using to play the files?
