All right, ppl. I have a great hypothesis for getting PSP games requiring at least the 2.50 update to run on a v1.50.

Everyone thought this tutorial was too complex:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/329866 - I couldn't get it to work, either. Esp for the fact that the guy who wrote the tut tells you to delete the UMD_DATA.BIN - that doens't even sound right. It could be right, but it sounds odd. Plus, there are way too many diff methods to choose from. If you go to that link tho, you will be able to get all the valuable tools you need. (Just download "all-u-need" near the top. Now here is my idea:

I have Street Supremacy. This is a 2.50 required upgrade to play. I have tried every hack I could find on the net. I have modded my ISO, I have decrypted .prx files, I have replaced the .prx files from Street Supremacy with .prx files from a v1.50 working ISO, I have deleted the UMD_DATA.BIN and nothing worked for launching the ISO. However, I had previously tried the G3N3515 version of RunUMD. Based off of the same code, it's better than RunUMD by the Saturn Expedition Comittee, b/c it actually runs the UMD of Street Supremacy.

Now, if G3N3515 would launch the UMD, why not the ISO? Up until I thought of this, I had been trying to run that ISO with a hacked version of the Saturn Expedition Committee's RunUMD. (here's what my brainstorming brought about... btw, Street Supremacy is only the example b/c it's what I'm going to try tonight. You can replace Street Supremacy with w/e title you want.)

To get Street Supremacy.iso (or your 2.50/2.60 ISO) to work try this:

*Make an ISO from Street Supremacy (or your 2.50/2.60 game) with no decryption; not even .prx files, no mods at all. Just make the ISO. (From UMD_DATA.BIN and PSP_GAME right from the rip to UMDGEN)

*Get the G3N3515 'x' folder in ms0. (Try hacked version of "x" folder, found in "all-u-need" if G3N3515 doesn't work.)

*Get the modded UMDEMULATOR up and running. (found in "all-u-need")

*Get the G3N3515 and G3N3515% and rename them to rundumdmod and runumdmod%. (Since this is how the modded version of UMDEMULATOR reads the RunUMD folders and G3N3515 is the only launcher that will run Street Supremacy right now, this should work.)

Should look like this
ms0
|
|--UMDEMULATOR (Modded core found in "all-u-need")
|--x folder from G3N3515 launcher
|--ISO\Street_Supremacy.iso (Full, no mods)
|
|----PSP\GAME\G3N3515 *renamed to runumdmod
|----PSP\GAME\G3N3515% *renamed to runumdmod
|
|----PSP\GAME\UMDEMULATOR (modded, found in "all-u-need")
|----PSP\GAME\UMDEMULATOR% (modded, found in "all-u-need")

Since G3N3515 launches the Street Supremacy UMD, I think this may work. There is virtually no difference in launching the UMD and the ISO if it goes through this way b/c G3N3515 just follows the commands it was given / programmed in. I don't believe the format will matter... Just remember to do the SYSTEM MENU / UPDATER ICON: REMOVE options.

What do you guys think?

I think I'm gonna get this working tonight is what I think.

EDIT: I am at work right now, so I can't try this. For anyone that gets a chance, let me know how you make out!
