Ilo problem? Ilo purple screen.

When I turn my recorder on, sometimes it will come up with a purple screen instead of a blue screen. When I set the source to tv, it is fuzzy and it says that it has no signal. Now after resetting it about a dozen times, it will finally come on with a blue screen like it is suppose to. There is nothing wrong with my cable line, so I'm thinking that it is the recorder. Anybody?
