I have updated my xbox (its chiped)i can play games back up games but can no longer restart the xbox with the chip off it says call microsoft for repairs if i put the old hard drive back in i can load it normaly

when you updated it, did you lock the hard drive again? if you didnt, it wont work when you turn the chip off, you will get error code 6 i believe! or maybe 5 or 7!

the reason why i ask what error msg u get is because iam suspecting its error msg 05, which in order to fix, you have to load to hdd.

It doesn?t give any error msg it just says there is a problem with your Xbox contact Microsoft for repairs will look tonight ant type everything on the screen for you

on top left should be a number and rest should have different languages thoughout the screen!

Agreed..either error5 (unlocked) or error16 (missing dash files)

Mind you this could be a 1.0 with no error numbers...whatever..boot installer disk and lock hdd..or put a new live enabled game in and go to update..and that should replace/repair the dash files

I have locked the H/Drive and copied all the folders from the old H drive to the new one but still getting an error 05

Error 5 is really simple to fix (unless you been unlucky and have a drive that can't be locked ..check it out here http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/
)..did you reboot properly before turning the box off...boot slayers or whatever and go through the locking again..If you can get to flashbios 3.0.1/3 you can lock from there too..It's more reliable than off a disk
