I was wondering.. why can't i burn DVD+R to DVD-R? i bought 12 spindles of them and now i can't even use them.. please help me.

well. I use DVD Shrink to encode a movie and it won't burn onto a DVD-R 16x... I used Nero to make of copy from DVD+R to DVD-R.. it just won't let me.. it says that it was an illegal disc.. if you have yahoo messenger.. i sure could use your help... jenniferclark17@yahoo.com thank you

What's the brand name and speed rate of those dvd -r's?

Did that same drive burn those plus backups? Or a different DVD-RW drive,maybe even someone elses?

What's the brand name and model# of your DVD-RW drive?

What is the firmware version of your DVD-RW drive?

Use neroinfotool to find these.The firmware version should be listed next to your model# in neroinfotool.
Also see if it'll tell you the MID codes from both the plus backups-that work,and the dash blanks-which don't.

Sounds like you are trying to re-rip backups that were on the plus format onto you newer dash 16x blanks. Is that correct?

Several possibilities:

You're burner may not support the dash format.This is the case for older model of drives like 4x models.

Or, the firmware may need updated to handle the newer 16x media. Those answers will help narrow it down.
