G'day there.
i'm experiencing problemms with dvd shrink and nero but not sure which or if it may be my computer, though it is brand new. dvd shrink analizses the dvd fine but when i hit backup, it thinks for a second or two and then vanishes from the screen! With nero, cd's and un-copyrighted dvd's are fine but if you insert a copyrighted dvd, a box appears saying internal error, and proceeds no further also cancelling nero from the screen. the technician at the purchase place replaced the dvd drive but no avail. can anybody diagnoze this problem. sorry for my novice knowledge!

Shrink is no longer being updated, and Nero doesn't handle copy protected movies. So if you want to back up dvds, try rip to harddisk with DVD Fab Decrypter, then burn with Nero:

I have this same error but I have all of the "good" Nero updates installed and it still won't work at any speed, this is the part of the error message that worries me:
5:58:08 PM #35 Text 0 File AudioCompilationImpl.cpp, Line 896
DRM: Closing entire DRM handling. Bye.

...DRM? I just updated windows and installed a new Lite-On DVDRW SHW-160P6S drive....I wonder if that DRM is THE DRM? Is this some new digital rights managment crap?

Are you saying Nero wouldn't work with non-copy protected dvds or dvds that have been successfully ripped to harddisk?
