In simple terms, a CRC is bit of mathematics used to ensure that your data is OK when being transfered. It's a checking procedure that quickly identifies when data has been damaged. If you get this message, it means that the file being read by your PC or software is corrupted. However, it does not mean all the data is lost forever. When data is transfered, it is usually in small blocks and each block is given a CRC value. If something goes wrong with the data between the time it leaves the source and arrives at its destination, the CRC sent at the source will no longer match the one that is calculated when the data arrives - this is when the cyclic redundancy check error will appear.

sorry OVVL. its on my computer screen. yer joeva i was looking at something like that. i dont understand though. its happening with the bigger iso's not the smaller ones. i cant see how the data will be corrupted because its off a disc. or well thanks for the help people i will have another go. ps. i thought it could of been because my memory stick was too small but it wasn't that comes up with drive is full. or whey worth a try.

well the whole thing is during burning data can be corrupted and thats what you have. Corrupted data. So the ones that don't work you will have to redownload.

ok im getting worried now. its happening all the time. does this mean theres something wrong with the iso or my psp?
well if i try to put on need for speed or dead to rights say with have small iso say 200mb. yer fine its ok. but say i put on ridge racer or tony hawks (a newer game with a bigger iso say 800mb) it comes up, i mean ive only got my 1gb card in but that shouldnt make a difference right?

hmm you may have a fake card. Are the isos on a cd/dvd? or are they on your hdd?

they on a dvd. but i think it did do it with one off my harddrive too. the memory card came with the psp wen i bought it. don't know if its fake or not.

Ok, now it sounds like it may be a combination of both. Now you are wondering why I am saying this.
Well I've gotten CRC errors before because of bad burns. However If you have a fake card, you might not be able to transfer large files, which has happened before. So my question is, have you been able to transfer anything over 500mb over to your memory stick? Do you have a umd around, so that you could do a raw dump and atleast try that. Cause if a raw dump still gives you a CRC error, then your memory card comes into play. If not, you could just be coming on to some bad luck w/some bad burns. CRCs aren't limited to burns. You can still have a CRC on a file on your pc.

nope not managed to do over 500mb. yeah i have world tour soccer on umd. so should i just dump that using fastloader? and it sounds like my memory card doesn't it. damn ebay.

lol its ok. its the memory card that was in my 1.5 wen i bought it so i didnt think it would be. ive got another one coming so its not too bad. thanks for your help.

yo mate i see your problem, try copying the iso from the disc to your hdd then to your memory card, because i reckon this will definitley work
