well, mate there just now Taking pre-orders in u.s.a. so I doubt they will be in queensland or anywhere else in aussie land.I live in the u.s.a. so it's just my opinion. But I do know that japan and u.s.a are the first to get it followed by europe.
Sorry....but You could pre order one from u.s.a. just make sure it's a good company like eb games, circuit city, gamestop etc.I just don't want you to get scammed.Another thing you should think about is regional differences like NTSC,PAL,SECAM,ETC.Some aussie games may not play on a u.s.a. version. What is your regional code?

Well if ya knew so much why are ya askin stupid.Common sense would tell you that if there taking pre orders in the u.s.a. and the console as you say is releasing in the same day in your country ,then you should be able to pre order soon.
I'm only a newbie to this forum not to playstation.Frankly I didn't know about the aus launch being the same day because I really don't pay attention to your country in terms of gaming.I was just posting because nobody else would help you out.Soooooorrrrry.

first things first. eb games and game stop as of saturday in the state of ny are NOT taking any preorders, but of coarse it could vary with location. circuit city, best buy, walmart, target to the best of my knowledge are not taking preorders also, nor will they ever. it is first come first serve for them. gamecrazy which is owned or an affiliate of hollywood video are also not taking preorders. they are sort of like gamestop i guess, dont shop there. the only store that i can positively say that has taken any preorders is FYE.. for your entertainment. so im only curious as to what stores are taking preorders as of now?

yeah but is the playstation really worth $1000. Because that is what it will cost here (i am talking the better pack, the other is worth less than a victorian.) If you convert a consoles european cost to AUD then you will get the rough aussie price, this works for the 360 and i am guessing it is the same for the ps3. I have looked at all consoles and the ps3 does not push my buttons. Personally i will buy a 360 and spend the extra $400 on 5 more games.
But back to the question it will most likely be released here first. Why? Because we live in the best bloody country in the world.
PS. Go the Crows (Neil Craig is a legend)
Suffer Port Power i hope they rot at the bottom of the ladder

Currency conversion on www.xe.com (good tool) suggests that at the US price of $599 for the 'better pack' Aussies will pay $793.494 at time of post (currency fluctuates at ridiculous intervals lol). Our dollar isn't that weak anymore Tomfitz :) Thats what the original PS2 anyway just about so it's all gonna be ok...
At least i hope so - the british pound conversion (from 425 pounds stated in another thread - not sure about it's accuracy) resulted in $1050 Australian. Now i'm confused :S
