I just bought new media and I cannot get it to work. I have been using TDK 8x DVD-R. I just bought memorex 16x DVD-R. When I try to burn a DVD using Clone DVD it says I do not have enough memory on the disk. It says there is only 1.55 Gigs available. Am I missing something or is there a problem with the media? Hope someone can help me with this cause my HD is filling up fast and I need to burn some of these.

TDK and Memorex are not the best media on the shelf! here is a media guide: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
to make a long story short.... just buy disks that are made in Japan then you know they are of top notch quality. Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Maxell are top notch (made in Japan) media, to name just few! Then try again and you'll see if it's a media problem. Next would be to see if your drive has the latest firmware. Firmware is a program that writes to the drives memory that tells the drive how to write on different disks..... what it does it recognizes the disk....and allows it to write to the disk! If your firmware is out of date then it might not recognize the disk and therefor won't be able to write to it! check your drive out here, for it's latest firmware: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php
just fill in the drive's name and # and hit search!

It was on sale at Best Buy 50 for 14.99 thought it was a good deal so I bought 3 spindles. I guess I can take 2 of them back since I opened one of them.

Verbatim will say made in taiwan but is still top notch media. It is the only made in taiwan media I would recommend and primarily the only brand I use. You can most likely get a refund or exchange even on the opened spidle.
