My friend has this problem...i really coulnt get him a good answer...could someone please help him out. The problem is: when i burn a movie it will only play on my portable dvd player not on any of my other players??

I would say that the other players don't play +/-R's, or they don't like the media you're burning to. Try another brand media, such as Verbatim. Verbatim is very good blank media.

Another option is: if your burner has the ability to Booktype a +R, +RW, or +R DL disc to DVD Rom, then do that. That will make it much more compatible with other players. Here is info on booktyping:
