Recently, I damaged my reset/eject ribbon and had to buy a new one. The new one came a couple days ago, and I tried replacing it. Everything seems like it's in order, the ribbon is plugged in the right way, but my reset/eject buttons don't work. The LED's don't even come on. Before I damaged my old ribbon, everything was working fine. I can't figure it out, if anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

...or installed it incorrectly. If the ends are in upside down it might not make a connection.

You know, I really hate when I ask for help, and people reply with a stupid answer. I'm not a moron, ok? Don't you think I actually looked to see what version of PS2 I had and which cable would be appropriate before I bought it? And what did I say in my first post? "the ribbon is plugged in the right way" That means it's not upside down. Sorry if I seem ungrateful, or rude, but it seems no matter where I go, or what I need help with, people ALWAYS reply with stupid answers. In the end, this prevents me from actually getting the answer I need. Someone who may actually know how to solve my problem looks at the thread, and sees that there are replies, looks like the problem is already solved, and so he/she moves on, and I never get a suitable answer.

If you can get a hold of another switch assembly that you know to be working and swap it in to see if that is bad. Otherwise, take a multimeter and check the fuses to see if one has blown.
