Will a fliptop case work with my DMS4 E.Z.I Lite? i was given a 30001 ps2 that works great but the tray doesnt work right anymore, you have to manually slide the white gear to raise the hub/laser assembly

Edit: adding some more questions.

From what i've seen the fliptop eliminates the need to eject the tray, so could i leave my laser/hub in the raised position permenatly if i used a fliptop case? or does the dms4 e.z.i modchip still require a signal from the ejecting tray?
