I used the info from a previous thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/24160 to try and solve my audio synch VBR vs. CBR problem but neither of the suggested methods worked. I have a file that is about 725mb and I want to split it so that I can fit it onto 2 cds. When I open the file in Virtualdub I get a message that says:
VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source .avi file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 37924ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder. (bitrate: 136.8 +or- 24.0kbps)

After trying the suggestions from the Feb 22 thread I ended up with a new AVI file that was 2GB with bad picture quality and sound out of synch. I think the instructions were basically good but still left many questions that I couldn?t answer.

Does anybody else have suggestions? I know this can be done, I just think more detailed directions are required.
