Did you try cleaning the disk?
What programs are you using?
Does the original play correctly?

I don't think there's anything special about the disk. Perhaps you just have a bad press. As I recall DVD Decrypter could handle the disk OK.

DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and your own choice of burning software.
That's how I did it and got a first time, first class copy.

i had no problemws with this movie dvd fab, ran through vobBlanker and shrink. (main movie only... to long). i havent ran into any movie that this combo won't handle. seems like i read alot of threads that people have problems with keeping AnyDVD updated. i think i've updated dvdfab once. when i first started reading around in afterdawn i had planned on getting AnyDVD, but after awhile of reading all the problems i decided to go with dvdfab. i haven't looked back since.

And what were all those problems with AnyDVD?

I believe that most of the "AnyDVD problems" that have been reported were due to "cockpit errors, other program conflicts or cracks"....:-)

sorry, didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. i meant no disrespect to AnyDVD users. as i said in my post i was going to start using AnyDVD but the more i read the more i decided not to go that route. i can't tell you exactly the what the problems are, as i have not used that program. i do apologize if i have misspoken. but i am sure that i have seen alot of posts about people having problems with AnyDVD, as well as alot of posts with people who love it. i am just stating that i didn't go the AnyDVD route and am perfectly happy with using dvdfab and vobBlanker.

I'm sure when you try it you will agree that Any DVD is easier and faster. The best money I've spent ( other then my divorce)

Perhaps reading the resolution of some of these "problem" threads will show that AnyDVD was not at fault and was accused unfairly....

Just looking at the thread titles is quite misleading. For instance, if all the prolbems aledgedly ascribed to DVD Shrink were true, no one would be using the program. Again, user error in it's many forms, is usually the cause, but it is easier to blame a program than it is to own up to one's mistakes.....:-)

I have yet to have a problem with any movie using AnyDVD. I also haven't seen any problems attributed to AnyDVD' IMO this program is worth way more than the price of it. Not trying to sound sarcastic, but I'd like to see anything that shows up as the fault of this program. As far as updates Sly IMO keeps on top of anything new that comes out. My 2 cents Chris

Don't feel like your the only one... AnyDVD did not work for me as far as compatability problems with other programs...I have had No Problems with DVDFab...and its FREE, and they stay on top of update before the movies even come-out!!!LOVE THE DVDFab!!!

Nothing against AnyDVD it's just not for me!

I did Kong with:
DVDFab to remove encryption
Nero to burn on Dual Layer Disc no compression.

DVDFab to remove encryption
1Click DVD to compress and burn on single layer disc.

thank you lp531, i didn't think i said anything bad about AnyDVD, but wow, they got on me pretty quick.(LOL) and i am sure that probably AnyDVD is quicker and easier, but i ddon't want to be one of those people that have to keep starting a new thread because i didn't update my AnyDVD after trying to rip the new releases every tuesday. i'll just keep using my dvdfab/vobBlanker and not have to worry about it. once again i do not mean any disrespect to AnyDVD users. just my opinion.

Keep doing what your doing...People just need to realize everybodys system is diffrent...diffrent combinations of programs... whats seems easier for one person, may not seem easier for another...I feel NO NEED to buy AnyDVD to remove css when DVDFab will do it for FREE!!!

If you are saving the movie to hard drive first, their is no real diffrence in time or simplicity to either program.

I'm afraid That I must go along with the comments re AnyDVD. There was nothing special about King Kong. The biggest problem I had was with Narnia. It was suggested I use AnyDVD and it did work, then I tried experimenting and finished up with 3 good backups.

1 with AnyDVD, 1 with the updated DVD43 and finally with dvdfabdecrypter. Although I am certain that AnyDVD is a terrific program, why use it if if other programs still work?

Although my computer is a bit slow, I am in the fortunate position of having two pc's. Therefore speed is not an issue. I just start up the required progs and walk away.

As mentioned by a lot of other members, try to keep your system in good working order, defraging and disk cleaning etc. And I always disable any programs running in the background, especially anti-virus and anything else running in the utlity tray.
