Hey im in a bit of a panic because i opened my ps2 up to clear out my fans and i by mistake i broke that silvery wire thing connecting the power switch. Can i replace this im such an idiot please rpely ASAP thanks

Is it torn or did it come out of the connector? If it's torn, it's toast. There are numerous places to get repair parts for the PS2. I think they cost only a couple of dollars.

i agree, if it just came out of the slot under the DVD Drive then you can just hook it back up. I had that happen the first time i opened mine. If it is broke it will just cost a few dollars to get a replacement. Here is an install guide.

Oh my god thanks just ordered the new ribbon cable. It literally all tore out.

Thought it was something else and yanked it!

ok i got the ribbon i installed it and it worked as i was closing it up i hit the controller out and it completly broke that brown thing that holds that ribbon in place it also will not now turn on. Whats wrong with me what can i do?

Do you mean the little connector that the ribbon for the controller port plugs into? If so is it broken off the board, or is the clip that holds the ribbon in the connector broken? I suppose if it's not broken off the board, a piece of electrical tape could hold the clip down place, there is not alot of pressure on it. It's a considerable the pain in the ass to replace the connector.
