How to burn downloaded video to dvd?

Is it possisble to convert a downloaded movie to burn on dvd shrink to burn to a disk?
If so is there any directions on where I could go? I am lost LOL
Otherwise does anyone know of any good program I could use? And where to find it? I have seen alot of video converters but all are trial only versions and I dont really want to buy a program unless it will really work for everything I need.

do you have Nero as this can convert to dvd

If the movie that you downloaded is an image file or video ts files than yes you can use shrink and burn. But if it is an AVI file or anything else than no you will need a program to convert for you to dvd. Try using Nero 7 version 7.08.02.

use the make your own dvd option. post back if you need help on how to convert it :-)
