if you are not modded don't bother reading
so i was home bored and nothing to do and well ya see if you have a modded box ya get to tinker with things
so here is how it happend i was sitting in my room playing halo 2 with the real disc. i got bored of the game so i decided to take the disc out hit the eject button and noticed it did not freeze and i could sill do what ever just not load maps.
this got me really thinking i have modded maps on my xbox some let me super fast some let me super fast with fly these of corse are two dif games all on seperate folders so when i went in to games it booted 2 diffrent games to choose from (fly , or speed)
and i remeber seeing on halo maps(the best program supplier ever) the abilitiy to make multiplayer map disc on a normal cd-r so i put two in two together and here is what i decided to attempt
(apologiez if my lil start rant was boring enough to debate whether or not you should put a gun in ur mouth u can now remove the gun and back away slowly and keep reading)
ok i transferd all my modded maps to my computer in two folders one saying fly and one saying speed in each folder it should look somthing like this
fly folder ( a random default.xbe {reason for this will be explained later} [media]folder [maps]folder inside there have the fonts the mainmenu.map and all ur cool little modding maps ya want that have the same names as the maps of the original disc ie, zanzibar lockout and all those shiny bungie creations )
so now that u have that be a good little boy and open a xiso composition program i recommend C-Xbox Tool
once loaded go to iso creation click add folder search for the folder you made in my case it was [fly]
then choose the destenation in which u want this iso to be saved desktop is always best cause usually only needed to used once
oh yeah as long as you only have the media fonts the default.xbe and the maps NO shared.map or anyhting like that it will be under 700mb
the default.xbe was needed because the C-Xbox Tool will not allow the selection of a folder unless it contains it
so now just click start and do what you plz until its finished go take a piss wash your hand and grab some food and if you have a really crappy computer and its not done when u get back go cry in a corner)
once the iso is made open your favorit burning application i use nero but what ever works u can also use
isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm if you have xp which is highly recomened since its a normal cd
do not be a moron and burn the iso on to a data disc choose the option to burn image to cd that is the only way for it to work
once completed burning here is the tricky part only if u don't no how to operate the button on the xbox
turn on xbox put in your "back up halo2" or the original disc wait for it to boot once the game is loaded you can jsut play with that disc or what ever but for in game instant modding speciality all you have to do is take the disc with the modded maps hit the big button to eject the disk (no other buttons should you have more then two and not the small one cause that turns the system off) once hte tray is open if the game did not freeze this will work for you
stick in the modded maps disc and close the tray
this can be done at any screen including game lobby
if you were playing the mpa that u wanted to mod on you will have to select a diffrent map and wait for it to load now as long as all maps were patched after editing it should load the map no problem
now with a simple eject button you can go from legit game to mod game and back with out having to turn off your xbox and only using a cd-r
