What movie are you trying to do, if it is a newer movie with Sony ARccOS, Puppetlock or Ripguard you are better off using the free DVDFab Decrypter and ripping to your HDD and then using Shrink.

Or try the trial of AnyDVD and use the built in ripper to rip to your HDD and use Shrink, or run it in the background with Shrink but ripping is a better bet it will remove any suspect cells/protection

Great advice as always from ^

But you could just have AnyDVD to run in the background while you use shrink to compress, but make sure you configure shrink so it will work in harmony with AnyDVD (remove dvd encryption options in shrink)

@kanytana

I had no problems with any of those titles using DVDFab, VOBBlanker and Shrink. Are you trying to make a 1:1 copy of them, or are you trying to re-author and just copy the movie and main sound track?

You might want to with Narnia, kind of long movie. If the main movie dips below around 75% (rough estimate, everyone tolerance level of blurs and pixels are different) you can start seeing the difference in quality on big sceen TV's and other set-ups.

Here are some good guides if you wish to make the best possible backups. Other good guides around Afterdawn if you use the right search terms.

with these titles, all you need is AnyDVD running background, use shrink then your burning software! works perfectly, no need for any other program!

Sony and Disney are the hardest........as already suggested I would purchase AnyDVD it works wonderfully in the background and it helps speeds up Shrink! if you are unable to afford AnyDVD, you can dowload DVD43 for free just about anywhere and it works alot like AnyDVD with a few more problems. AnyDVD is a must for backing up and it is upgraded almost weekly!!

Thanks RIDGER!!Ü
