Please help v14 slim ps2 question!!!

I recently bought a Slim ps2 scph-75001 NTSC USA (my old ps2 broke). I had the magic slide and swap magic 3.6 discs yet I know now that the slide tool won't work. I've heard of the tape and tissue method, is it safe and will it work? Thanks in advance.

yep its safe, gonna void ur warranty though. Did it 2 my ps2 b4 i got a flip top, worked great. If u cant afford the 20 bucks for a flip top, ur good with the tape and tissue mod:)

PS. I also have a V14 so I can say it is safe for that particular model.

Dude it worked like a charm!!! It's so awesome ty so much for whoever made that guide!!!!!!! (was it pretense)?

Anyhow thanks for clearing that up for me!

However, I do have a question, I recently found out that my broken Ps2 could be easily fixed. I oringally thought I tore the power cord, but in fact it only slipped out of the part underneath the Ps2. My old Ps2 is a SCPH-30001 It has 8 screws so it's either a Version 4/5/6, It is a US NTSC Ps2 so my belief is it is a v4. Are there any guides or tips on how to place that ribbon back inside, or is it just impossible? thanks in advance

EDIT: Another reason why I think it is a V4 is because when I bought it (like 5-6 years ago) is because I got it used about 2-4 months after the PS2 came out.

EDIT2: Also stvstang, why did you get a fliptop after you used the tape and tissue? thanks anyway

I bought a flip top cause i didnt like having all the damn tape sticking out the back on my ps2 or out of the disk tray....Cost me 15 bucks for the fliptop.....

what tape? for me I have no tape sticking out, I just have a little bit covering the tissue ball. Also any thoughts on my other question about my old SCPH-30001 v4 NTSC US ps2?
