Hello everyone,
I am back yet again. I USED to have a PSP FW 1.5. I upgraded to FW 2.1 (in an act of stupidity). Frustrated, I sold my PSP (another dumb mistake).
My current situation is as follows:
1. I want to purchase a PSP that you can run a nintendo 64 emulator.
2. I also want to be able to play the new games that require the updated firmware. (Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and others)
After reading some of the posts in this forum, I have come to the conclusion that, it is POSSIBLE to put a Nintendo 64 emulator on a PSP firmware 2.6. Is this true? If it is possible, how big does my memory stick need to be?
If this is not possible, then is it possible to some how run some other PSP games that require a firmware higher than 1.5 to run on a PSP with firmware 1.5.
Thanks for your time, and thanks for the help
Mike

Yes, the new N64 Emulator works on 1.0-2.6 firmwares.
Depending on the amount of ROMs you want to put on your memorystick you should be fine with a 32mb stick, but I would go with anything larger than that so you won't run out of space right away.
As to running games on 1.5 that require an updated firmware, most of the new games are able to run on 1.5. It depends what game you want to run though. GTA can be run on 1.5 also. What games are you thinking of buying or running on your PSP?

Thanks for the quick response!
Well...I plan I playing (let the list begin):
06 FIFA World Cup
NBA 06
GTA
Socom U.S. Navy SEALS
Syphon Filter
Fight Night Round 3
WWE Smackdown
Burnout Legends
Hot Shot Golf
Midnight Club 3
Need For Speed Series
MLB 06 The Show
NCAA Football 07
SSX on tour
and many others...
Now for my list of N 64 game I own that I plan on putting on....
Super Mario 64
Mario Kart
Super Smash Bros.
Golden Eye
Crus'n USA
1080 Snowboarding
Legend of Zelda (majoras mask and ocarina of time)
Perfect Dark
Mario Tennis
Mortal Kombat 4
There are probably more that I cant think of...but that should give you a general idea of the type of PSP games I will play and the amount of space I need for the roms. In your opinion, would it work to go with the PSP FW 2.6 and just buy a big enough memory stick? Does the N64 emulator emulate the N64 very well, or are there a lot of glitches and such?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Mike

Thanks you very much.
After Reading a majority of the list, I realized that most of the N64 games I want have glitches or crash. My question now is, is this a relativitely new emulator? (Which means most bugs and crashes will be worked out?) And, does this emulator have frequent updates? (It seems that they have a relatively large group of people working on it, but I just want to be sure)
Thank you all for your time

goto google and search N64 Roms
otherwise emunation or emuworld or something along those lines has a lot of Roms, but ur best bet is searching google or some other search engine.

Yes, this emulator is new and is always being updated and worked on. There was one week that he released four updates all within a couple days of each other.

It's my advice that you downgrade to 1.5...the new loaders out there today allow the loading of the games that "require" the later firmware.
PS2 V4 Solid Blue FlipTop
Swapmagic CD 3.2/DVD 2.0

Wow...so the emulator is updated frequently (GREAT :D) Since I dont currently own a PSP, do you think that getting a PSP firmware 2.6 will be able to do what I want? (I am not really interested in ANY homebrew or interested in anything but PSP and N64 games)
Thanks again for the responses! :D

***edit*** If i were to buy a PSP in the next couple of weeks, what firmware would I most likely get? Are any 2.7 FW PSPs on the market?
THanks again
Mike
