That's kind of a loaded question. 10 people could give 10 different answers. TMPGEnc is good but very slow, Procoder is good and said to be fast but I found it at least as slow as TMPGEnc. CCE is supposed to be very good and very fast but a knowledge of Avisynth is required. I use MainConcept and am very satisfied with its speed and quality. VSOConvertXtoDVD is good, fast and performs every function from start to burned DVD.

what file type are you trying to convert.If its AVI convert x to dvd is probably the fastest and then if its mpeg you cant go past CCE.But thats only part of the equation.How fast is your pc?
