Hey guys,
My Xbox frequently skips - mainly on DVD's burnt or original, but this has been going on for a while (anyone found the same problem? Is the Xbox generally a sh*t DVD player??). Now however, it skips on games. As the game i bought was second hand i figured that a few scratches may have caused this (although they are nothing near major). I tried playing various other titles - in mint condition (!!) and they have begun doing the same thing, to the point that my Xbox will return to the green Hub screen with the message telling me the 'Disc is dirty or damaged' Which it Isn't! (Pulls hair).

These games by the way are all originals and my Xbox has not been modded and is not old. Does my laser lens need a clean -for whatever reason - or could playing a scratched disc for a while (while skipping slighlty and constantly) have permanently damaged the friggin thing? If it does need a clean is there a guide or can someone instruct me on how to clean it safely without (further) damage occurring?

you can clean it but usually the xbox dvd drive will just poop out on ya...i have one i will sell to you works perfect just pm me if you interested....

I have a cash flow situation at the moment and i'm in Australia (guessing on the balance of probabilities you're in America?) but if it comes to that, i'll keep ya in mind TheRidges - thanks.

i think on ebay there like 30 bux with shipping US that is i will sell mine for 20 with shipping if you can find cheaper than that let me know.....oh and the guy in my signature is from an Anime Called "Bleach" its real big over in japan a new episode airs everyweek on wensday i usually D/L them on thursday after the groups add subtitles to them you should check it out if you like anime's....

well i dunno if you have heard of naruto that anime is also really big in japan has been out for a few years over there this has been beating out naruto in ratings for the last couple a months its one of the best anime's i have seen in a while and geez have i seen a bunch...

i have a very similar problem only with mine i cant play halo 2 only, and its not becuse the disc is scratched becuse i have tried like 6 different coppies of the game and none of them will play any of the levels except midship some other games have trouble playing also but halo 2 is the main one i have problems with and i kinda wondered if it could be becuse it is a duel layer disc (btw this is the only game i have thats duel layer and halo is the only one that i really have trouble with. if nebody has any thots about this or needs more info about it ill be happy to tell you so please help me out if you can
