Ok, after my initial gamecube had laser problems I got another cheap one and put my modchip into it. The problem I'm having now is, the modchip can only sometimes play backups. I've narrowed down the problem to the small piece that is connected to the chip. The wires that plug into the modchip come from two different places, the soldered wires on the GC's board and the small piece that hooks up around to the top right corner of the GC. That small piece has some kind of problem and I can't figure out exactly what it is.

Small movements will sometimes get a backup to work but equally small movements will make it not work again. I wanted to know if it's possible to just replace the plug for the modchip(maybe 10 or 20 bucks) versus buying a completely new modchip.
