I was trying to copy the lost episodes to dvd. I was using dvd shrink and dvd decrypter. It couldn't read one of the disks because of errors put on the disk (copy protection.) I also tried to use any dvd. Any suggestions?

Are you using the latest version of version of AnyDVD - 5.9.6.1?
You can also try ripping w/ the ripper that's in AnyDVD then process those files thru Shrink.

Whenever this DVD was released, I did it with the latest AnyDVD at the time. I didn't have any issues whatsoever.

If AnyDVD isn't working (especially the most current one 5.9.6.1), try DVDFab.

AnyDVD should work though.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

blondeguy,
Welcome to the forum. You received great advice from binkie7 and Mr_Pink and it should be followed. As they stated the newest version of AnyDVD should do that disk. If it fails w/ AnyDVD using the ripper and it fails w/ also DVDFAB Decrypter then it has to be either bad scratches or a bad mastering press. If that is the case then the disk needs to be returned for exchange. You might also try using DVDDecrypter and tell that program to ignore the errors. Go to Tools> I/O> look at the lower right hand side and put a check mark in " Ignore Read Errors".

Now try it this way w/ the setting above:

1. Open DVDD and go to Tools> Settings> General> make sure you uncheck " Check for Structure Protection"

2. Check I/O amd make sure either SPTI-Microsoft or ElbyCDIO-Elaborate Bytes has a check mark there next to either one

3. Go to CSS and under CSS Cracking Method make sure a check mark is next to "None"

4. Now click OK

5. Open Newest version of AnyDVD and make sure the fox head is in the taskbar

6. Insert DVD Movie in Drive and rip the movie to HD

The reason I suggest this as if there is a problem DVDD will create a log that you can post here for us to look at

binkie7 ,
Thanks. I normally do not answer your threads as they are covered very well when you answer them but I was just curious and wanted to see a log to see what the problem is. That is why I suggested DVDD using AnyDVD to disable the encryption.

blondeguy,
What happened when you used AnyDVD?
