Some look great, but I really don't think GT has jumped that far ahead in graphical terms (heard they're implementing a damage model though - Finally!). If you ask me, close up those spectators look like High Definition card board cut-outs. It's been bugging me since i first saw screenshots of that game, something appears strange... Still it might look fantastic in motion.

Gran HD is going to be sick.By far there best Graphic wise.But they never had a bad Gran tour game every released because they take time to do them games and dont rush it.

Yeah good call. The crowd just looks strange (looks like they're at a metal concert with the way they have their hands pointing towards the cars in unison) - the car models will look unbelievable I'm sure, and you're right they never rush a game do Polyphony Digital. Heavenly Sword looks pretty sweet so far...

Yeah Heavenly Sword caught my eye to.Thats a title i will buy.But Assassin's Creed im not to fawn of for some reason this game is giving me bad vibes.

Really- looks pretty sweet, like an anglo saxan version of Tenchu or something like that - and the graphics are pretty nice. I just can't wait for FFXIII and MGS4...

Yeah - the finished product should look and play awesome. Imagine what it will be like once the developers master the PS3's hardware :D

i honestly thing in 3 years from now games like brothers in arms will look like saving private ryan. i mean if the games look so great now. on the ps2 look at the games now from 5 years ago.

Do you think that is a good thing Dr. Cool? I mean there's something about Videogames that separates them from reality - if it looks too] much like reality, then I don't think I'd enjoy it as much... I don't wanna see stone chips on cars, or a Robert Deniro-esque hairy mole on my main characters face. I want to escape from life, not play something that looks exactly like it. Thats the beauty of games I think - they look better than reality because of their escapism from it. That really isn't a clear explanation of what I think, but you can get a vague idea of what I'm on about can't you? If i want to see guts, that look like real guts, then I'll go fight in a war (seems to be plenty of opportunity at the moment :( ) not play a videogame. Besides, if things look too real then those tits at censorship will really F**k things up...

try to refrain from statements like that especially if you have never been in a combat situation. in regards to 'real guts,' war for example happens to also bring death/social/psychological/physical/emotional elements that can be very difficult for people to not only prepare but adjust to. war is not a game and in case you dont already know, very real. for some who either can't or may never get to experience combat, games are as close to the real thing as they will ever get, and some people unlike yourself desire that.

@ timmy well why get a ps3 or x360? if you don't want realism get a psx, that is what the main argument is for the systems is realism right?

Yeah I know Dr. Cool - just saying that games would be boring if they looked exactly like real life (thats just my opinion). Well said Hade, I probably should have worded that better - I did not mean to say that the effects of war aren't psychologically or emotionally detrimental, I simply was using that as an example of how real things are beginning to looks on new consoles. Part of the fun of Videogames is there detatchment from reality (for me anyway, once again my opinion). I'm simply saying the day games overstep that mark, they mightn't be fun anymore, because they may seem to real. Besides which, people are already on the whole desensitization bandwagon, and these new graphical capabilities aren't going to help.
Just another point to add, no matter how real the graphics are beginning to look, the true step towards realism is physics and so on. How many times have you played a great looking game, but when a person speaks in it, there mannerisms look fake, or when they pick up a glass to drink from, it doesn;t even look like they are holding on to it? That aspect of games graphics and so on will hopefully see much improvement with the new consoles being released.

I really couldn't argue for anyone at this point Dr. Cool - the full potential of either console (XBox360 and PS3)hasn't been tapped into yet. I think you'll agree on me with this statement though: The gap between graphical capabilites between Sony and MS' new machines will be tiny compared to that seen between the PS2 and Xbox.

I still can't believe that the Wii only has an upgraded GC chip! That's one major shortcoming, spose its so they can have the competitive pricing...

it was found out that
at e3 there were no working Wii s
all the demos were played on Game Cubes
if they sould something to make wii games and controllers on the game cube they would have a lot more game cube sales

Wouldn't that render releasing the Wii pointless?? The Gamecube in my mind was a good console with great in-house titles and the graphics were great controls good - unfortunately it was something of a failure for Nintendo and I think the best thing for them is to put their energy into a new console and keeping control of the handheld market - not trying to revive what is now a dead technology...
