Please help with broken v4 SCPH-30001!!!!!!!

I recently found out that my broken Ps2 could be easily fixed. I oringally thought I tore the power cord, but in fact it only slipped out of the part underneath the Ps2. My old Ps2 is a SCPH-30001 It has 8 screws so it's either a Version 4/5/6, It is a US NTSC Ps2 so my belief is it is a v4. Are there any guides or tips on how to place that ribbon back inside, or is it just impossible? thanks in advance

The one that connects the power/reset and open-lid buttons to something underneath the ps2 (I'm not sure but perhaps to the DVD?)

EDIT: It is the ribbon that connects the eject/power to the dvd tray

The ribbon connects to the motherboard, under the drive. Look at this:
