Hi Everyone,
I'm not really sure if I'm in the right thread but maybe someone can help me. I just bought a new I/O Magic Lightscribe DVD burner and I've been having some problems. First I was using DVD shrink 3.2 and I would be backing up the DVD and when it would get to about 97% the computer would restart. So I downloaded all sorts of drivers and finally got it to make it the whole way. Then I used Nero which came with the burner and I used the create DVD option and started the burning process and went to bed but to my surprise in the morning the computer had restarted again. Now I tried to use Aurora MPEG To DVD Burner and once again after it got so far my computer restarted itself. As far as I know I HAVE ALL the drivers for my DVD burner and I dont know what to do. Also once in awhile when I open Nero it will say "Lightscribe error" but it still works. Can anybody help me or does anybody else have these problems? Please Help!

Thanks,

Kelly

kjs5779,
Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are having computer conflicts. Lets try this first and see if it helps clear up these conflicts. I want you to try one of the free ones below:

EasyCleaner: http://www.toniarts.com/products.php?PHPSESSID=43890033c45f73d113...

CleanMyPC registry cleaner: http://www.registry-cleaner.net/

Try the second one first as it lets you back up your registry first incase you accidentially remove something that should not be removed. Since it is a trial version you can remove only 2 items each time but it should not take you long to really clean up the registry. If you like it then you can purchase it.

Other causes of a computer restarting automatically Heat and dust so you may need to open up the side of the computer after you turned it off. Now ground your self to make sure there are no static sparks and check for dust. If there is dust get a can of the compresses air and gently blow the dust out. If there is no dust then carefully plug the computer back in and verify visually the fans are working. Check the fan on the Power supply and the case fans. Also if you have a video card make sure the fan there is operating properly. You might just need to install another fan inside the computer to keep the heat down.

After this then verify after you turn the computer off and unplug it that the cables are seated properly to the Motherboard.
