personal list of stable and durable chips which will not spoil the ps2 (ranked according to quality and most, price):

1. DMS4 Pro or Matrix Infinity
2. Crystal Chip
3. Ghost 2
4. Duo 3
5. mars action a752
6. xenops (new but looks neat)
7. modbo newer models (not 1.1 , 2.0 or 3.0)

might have missed out others thats all i can remember for now.
hope it helps.

P.S. DMS4 Pro requires a pro installer. I wouldnt do it myself.

i would agree with the above.
DMS4 Pro
Matrix Infinity (watch out for clones!)
Crystal Chip V1.1
those are the 3 very best choices in order

Duo2 GT is a good solid chip but lacks the free upgrade (flash) features of the 3 above

everything below that is just a peice of junk and i would never tell someone to buy them. Also i would spring for a good laser fix like Summone or Comsoft V4 while your at it.
