I'm trying to copy a DVD with DVD Decrypter\DVD Shrink now, and i get this message:

Unable to read files from

F:/VIDEO_TS

F:/VIDEO_TS/VTS_03_0.IFO: Unable to open file

What the hell?! The DVD is burned already, so it's weird it's a problem. In other words, im backing up a back up. Wich works btw, i've watched it before.
What should i do? Any suggestions? I've had the same error with CloneDVD.

Here's a screenshot of the VIDEO_TS folder:

I also tried to back it up as an IMAGE file with DVD Decrypter, but still it wouldn't open in Shrink.

I was planning to watch this DVD soon, so fast help would be appreciated

Methor,

If your trying to make a copy of a copy and are having problems doing it, this is how I get it done without ever having a problem.

How to Make a Copy of a Copy Using Nero

You successfully backed up a DVD, do you need to use DVD Shrink again to copy the already copied DVD? Nope, Nero allows you to make a identical copy of the already decrypted copied DVD. Insert the DVD your trying to make a copy of in your DVD-ROM +/-R /RW drive and let it be recognized.

1. Run the nero burning rom application from the smart start menu under application. The wizard screen should pop up on top of the main Nero screen. On the left hand side, you may need to tell Nero if your making a "CD" or a "DVD" copy. Of course you would be making a "DVD" copy, so simply click the down arrow and select "DVD" as your choice. (Illustrated in the screen shot with the red arrow.) Screen Shot Below:

2. After you have selected "DVD" as your preferred compilation type, now click the "DVD Copy" icon. (Illustrated by the blue arrow.) Screen Shot Below:

3. Now for configuring the tabs at the top. There should be 4 tabs at the top. "Image", "Copy Options", "Read Options", and "Burn". I will take screen shots for some of the tabs instead of explaining each one completely.

4. The first tab, is the "Image" tab. See Nero makes a image of the burning process and what files are attached to it. Then you simply load that image into Nero and burn it. (Nero does it automatically if you are using "DVD Copy" compilation.) On the "Image" tab, the first box is the "image file" box. This is where you want Nero to save your "Image". ( I always save my image to the desktop, cause I delete it right after I burn the copy of the copy.) Click the "Browse" button to the right of that box, to choose the destination for the image. (Whether it be on your desktop, in your "My Documents"folder, where ever.)

5. Below that box is box to put a check mark in if you want Nero to automatically delete the image after it has successfully burned the image to disk.

6. The "Hard drive speed info" is next on that tab. I don't know what it is, so I don't even bother messing/changing it.

7. The next tab is the "Copy Options" tab. Here you can select how you want Nero to copy. Although burning with the "On the fly" option is faster, it is not recommended. Next option to change on the "Copy Options" tab is selecting your source drive. (The drive with the original copy.) Then under that is the "Read Speed:". You can select what you want here. I have mine set at "3x (4,155 KB/s)" to eliminate possible read errors from reading to fast.

8. The next tab is "Read Options". (Just going to post a screen shot of mine) Screen Shot Below:

9. The next tab is the "Burn" tab. (Again I'm just going to post a screen shot of mine.) Screen Shot Below:

10. Instead of maximum, set the write speed to 4x, 6x, or 8x (try to set it at no greater than 1/2 the rated speed of the media), click burn and your done!

Note: If you have only one combo drive, nero will prompt you for blank media when it finishes caching the image before the actual burning process can begin.

If you don't have nero, you can download a trial version from here;

Using DVD Decrypter you should rip in ISO read mode and burn in ISO write mode. I don't see a F:/VIDEO_TS/VTS_03_0.IFO file in your screenshot. Being a backup alread you don't need to compress the movie again because it should already be compressed, so DVD Shrink is just a step that you don't need to take.

I've tried with Nero. I have another version though, a newer one i think. NeroVision or something. When all files were analyzed, i got a message that i needed another program (don't remember the name) so that the sound would join in. And some of the files were, according to Nero, "empty", so they would not be on the disc. I couldn't go any further because of this.

I did make an Image-file with DVD Decrypter, but DVD Shrink couldn't burn this either.

I'll say it again, you don't need to use DVD Shrink. DVD Shrink doens't have a burn engine anyway, it relies on Nero, Imgburn or DVD Decrypter to burn the files for it. Try burning the ISO image created by DVD Decrypter with DVD Decrypter in ISO write mode.

Here's a guide for doing what LOCOENG suggested.
http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/burn%20ISO%20w%20decrypter.pdf

If you use nero to make a copy of a copy, nero vision is the wrong application to use. From the smart start menu/window, move the cursor over the backup section at the top of the window, then choose copyDVD and have it open with nero express on the left side of the window. Nero express will open, insert your copy and then your blank in the burner if you have two drives (or copy first if you have only one drive), make your source and destination choices, choose a wirite speed of 4x, start the process. That's it.....

Here's a guide, copy past the address in IE's address field and click GO;
