I have downloaded Gta San Andreas and burned it into a sony dvd-r but when i try to play it in my ps2 it does not seem to work.
I tried burning it with nero and ImgBurn but still it has failed to play. When i insert the disc and restart my ps2 it shows those white lines blinking but instead of the Play Station 2 logo a reading disc text appears and then it says that please insert a plays.......
I havent had a problem playing dvd-rs in my ps2 before but now none of them seem to work. Is this a mod problem or what? And also my tray has been acting a little funny when i eject it, it slides out very slowly and slides back in real fast.
Please help

Sounds like a laser problem, try cleaning it, if that doesn't work then you might need to have it replaced

the new laser of the version of the ps2 i use isnt avalaible any longer in the market, i have tried having it replaced coz it has troubled me before.. so how many ways are there to have my laser cleaned, disc cleaner?

I'd avoid the CD cleaning discs, they tend to scratch the laser lens. Try adjusting your laser: http://www.ps2parts.com/laser_adjustment.html

sorry for the incovenience but i kinda dont understand the guide, if possible can u summarise (if possible) or i will try figuring out what to do

That guide is quite summarised as it is, if you are having trouble understanding it then I'd suggest paying someone to fix it, it'll be cheaper than getting the whole thing fixed if you screw up

yea i thought so coz i am not very experienced with doing this stuff myself..thanks for the help anyway!
do you know anything about the tray?

The tray seems to be a problem of the motor of the track... could be due to build up of dust or something, but again, its probably best to get someone to open it up and have a look
