on the menu go all the way to the left (settings) scroll down to system settings as far as i remember and then select system information and it will tell u ur firmware version

well like thirst said upgrade to 2.0 and you get themes.

but if you upgrade to 2.0 and downgrade to 1.5, you could get the homebrew of PSPersonalize. all it is is a program that lets you change the background for each month.

1)you need to get PSPersonalize, and get it working on your psp.

2)get the pic that you want (try making your own)

3)once you have the pic that you want and you have done what ever you are wanting to do with it you need to resize it. (the size is very important, this determins<--heysi--> if the psp will reed it.) The size needs to be 300 by 170.

4)once you have resized it you need to save the pic in .bmp format.(this is the only file name that the psp will read as a calender)

*also*-when you name the pic you need to name it any number between 01.bmp and 12.bmp.

5)once that you have your pic in .bmp format, the pic is in the right size, and it is named corectly you need to check out the properties.

(there is 1 rule that you need to follow for sure) the pic can not be larger than 150kb. but once you change the size to 300 and 170 it should be the right size.

6)then you put the pic that you have in the Memory Stick Root Folder.

7)follow the steps that you get with the ReadMe.txt with your PSPersonalize and there you go... a custom background on a 1.5.
