I am a newbie and have a question I purchased DVDX Copy and cannot figure out how to copy the whole DVD and then split. I am not asking anyone to tell me but if you could point me in the right direction as to a guide or somewhere on this site I can get a clearer picture about this.

DVDX copy express has worked great up to this point however I want to be able to see the entire movie.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you want ONLY the movie and NO extras and keep the DVD picture quality and you're backing up your collection of DVD's. Then do the following:

1. Get DVD Decrypter
2. Get DVD2ONE
3. Get Nero Express or (I guess any other DVD copying program will work)

Step 1. Start DVD Decrypter, it will automatically highlight the main movie files including the IFO file. It will dump the movie to your hard drive. When it's done close it because you don't need it anymore.

Step 2. Start DVD2ONE, point the program in the direction of your movie files on your hard drive and then pick a temp folder for your destination files. On the next screen you'll see AC3 6 channel, language, and angle. Usually angle is already highlighted and you'll need to highlight the other two. When DVD2ONE is done, close it because you don't need it anymore.

Step 3. Start Nero Express or what ever DVD burning program you use. Select ALL the files in the folder just created by DVD2ONE and burn.
When it's done you have a complete movie with the quality. One thing I would do, use a "RW" for the first couple times you use this process just to make sure you're doing it right. I did and after the first few times I quit.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help. DVDX copy will do the same thing it only picks the movie. I want to add all the trailers special features etc. It seems like all software will pick the main movie.

I really do not have to have all of the extras, but on some movies I would like the entire feature.

Maybe you just cannot do this. Anyway thanks for the help.

Im sorry DVDX Copy does not pick just the movie I believe you have to pick the file you want. I have been using DVD Decrypter.

I also have used file and ripped all the files to my hard drive but once again any software will not let me select all files. I am sure I am missing some steps I am still reading up on all this but I will get it.

DVDXCopy Xpress captures the movie only. DVDXCopy will capture the entire contents usually onto two discs. It is easy to use so if it is not doing this it is not installed correctly. If you want the entire contents on one disc try DVDShrink which is free from this site. You do not need a decrypter for this. The movie (and extras if you want them) will be compressed, the amount dependent on the size of the original disc, but the result is ussually pretty good.
