i can't open up the file to copy the movie when a stranger calls 2006 dvd shrink

DVD shrink won't be able to backup this movie alone, it can't handle the copy protection used.

Download and install a free ripper/decrypter called DVDFab decrypter, you can the use DVDFab to rip the video files to your hard drive. Once DVDFab is done run DVD shrink and open the files created by DVDFab (using the open files tab, browse to where the VIDEO_TS folder is located and choose it), once the files have been opened/imported by shrink, you can continue using shrink as usual to create your backup.
