I downloaded the DivX Pro 5.05 Codec from this site and was following the guide for DVD>DivX 5 and when I go to configure the settings from Virtual Dub, it pulls up the DivX menu and I do not have all the tabs that are shown in the guide, most importantly, it is missing the entire Advanced section! What do I need to do to have all the correct menus enabled??
Sounds like you need to get DIVX Pro Codec, rather than the regular non-pro?
If you have "profiles" and that kinda stuff, then that's your problem.
DIVX pro runs spyware on your system unless you register one way or another.
Here is a link to AdAware, a free adware/spyware scanner. Using it may cause the Pro codec to stop working, but It might not.

Well thanks for the suggestion but I DID have the Ad-supported PRO CODEC and it still had the different profiles. (Odd?) And, yes if you run Ad-Aware and remove the Gator component then the codec will not work...hmm...maybe I need to buy the non-ad version, but not even sure if that would fix it if its the same codec just with the ads. I did run a test on a video file with the messed up codec I have now and the quality seems pretty good but would like to know why my "PRO" codec isn't really Pro...
