Hello all,

I am brand new to shrink and dvd decrypter. Even though I have read the Doom9 guides, I am still confused as to how to use these two programs to burn a DVD.

Can anyone lead me to step by step instructions? I need to understand what to do first.

Do I open decryper and run it first? I did not this and at the end it wanted to burn to a DVD, but even though the files were in a folder, I could not burn. I did something wrong.

Plus the file was too big for my DVD blank disc.

So I opened shrink and got an error message regarding an overlap.

What the heck am I doing?

Bottom line, I want to back up my Grey's Anatomy before the teenagers destroy it and my DVD X Copy Platinum can't get past the new encryption.

That's another good question, Will shrink and which DVD decrypter will work on the newest decryption?

First, I would download DVD FAb Decrypter instead of DVD Decrypter. DVD Decrypter has not been updated in 9 months or so and will never be updated again. But it still can decrypter older DVDs. DVD Fab Decrypter still is updated with new decryption codes and can be used to decrypter the new movies.

After ripping the movie with DVD Fab Decrypter, you would then open the files that were put onto your harddrive with DVD Shrink. Shrink will then "shirnk" the file to fit a standard sized blank DVD.

Welcome :)

You can do it in three simple steps:

1) use DVDFab decrypter to break the dvd encryption and to put the movie onto your HD. http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

2)then use shrink to compress the movie. guide here http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink

3) Then you can use DVD Decrypter to burn to a disc

The get past the newer encryptions, I would definately advise using DVD Fab. Also I would use VOB Blanker: http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm

After you rip the files onto your HHD with DVD Fab, go into VOB Blanker and open the VTS file that was created by DVD Fab. You will then process this VTS file in VOB, VOB will then create new VTS files except these files will now be without dumby cells and blank cells. After VOB is done, you will open the new files created by VOB in DVD Shrink. If you need more help, I and many others will be able to help you along the way.

Vobblanker is an excellent free programe but it will properbly be to hard for rachelz to use (no offence).


EDIT: Although rachelz could use the guide provided as it includes how to use Vobblanker aswell. ;)
