MGS2-Substance not loading with HDAdvance

Well I have hit select and pretty much messed with every setting trying to get this game to work off of the Hard Drive it hangs up at a black screen and doesn't seem to attempt to load at all.

Anyone have settings that they got to work on their PS-2 that i can try?

V.7 PS2, 120GB Hard drive. HDadvance 3.0 w/DVD 9 capability..

EDIT: I put HDAdvance in the tray and select convert for MGS2 then switch disk when it says too and hit convert. The overall mem it takes up is 2 GB.

did you turn on the modes?(select enable the modes and press select again to return). im not sure if you need to do this with HDadvance though. all i know is that you do most of the time on HD_Loader.
