Internet stopped working/not receiving packets

I have DSL hooked up to a router in which 3 computers are connected to. All 3 computers have worked fine until yesterday when i was on azereus and browsing the web, it just all the sudden stopped loading web pages. I noticed that my computer kept shuting off my network card to save power so i turned that setting off and still nothing.

I'm not exactly sure what the problem is because i can access lan just fine. Im sending packets fine but having trouble receiving them. Basically I'm not receiving any packets.

I've tried numerous things mentioned by forums of those having similar problems but no luck. I've uninstalled/reinstalled NIC drivers, used system restore, used winsockfix etc.

I'm pretty lost right now so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like you've done everything under the sun to the computer, when the computer isn't the issue!!

Your LAN is governed by the router. Your access to the internet is sent thru the modem, to the router to be distributed. Signal variations, power spikes (even small insignificant ones), frequency loss....can all cause a modem or router to stop functioning properly.

So, you can try two things. Either use the reset buttons on the router and modem, or unplug both from the wall for approx. five minutes. I'd recommend unplugging them for a bit.

Morph I love you. This whole time i thought it was something wrong with my computer but all it needed was the router and modem to cool down for 5 minutes to fix the problem. Thanks a million!
