Hey folks! I have a question I haven't found answered here and was hoping someone could help. I have a v12 PS2 with DMS4 SE Pro chip, ToxicOS 0.41, and HDCombo (thanks to the research I did here and the excellent work of Dave at teammodders!) and it works wonderfully, but I'm wondering if it's possible to load and run multi disc games from the hard drive.

I know the chip itself supports multi disc games, but I'm wondering if there's any way I can load my old copy of Final Fantasy VII onto the hard drive and switch "discs" (actually hard drive partitions I suppose) in the middle of the game.

I've learned a heck of a lot regarding PS2 modding reading the FAQS and posts here, and really appreciate you guys' knowledge and willingness to share it.

isnt FFVII a ps1 game? ps1 games dont work off of the hdd. Or if its not then normally most games ask you to save before you change disc, all you can do is save it then restart your ps2, then load the other disc.

Yep, FFVII is a PS1 game. So only PS2 games can be played off of the hard drive, and then only if saves are supported between disc swaps?

yea ps1 games will never be able to play of the HDD, unless they come up with an emulator or something to run them. For ps2 games you need to save before you have to change disc then you restart, loading the other disc. Thier would be a way to get one disc to load after the other it would just take a bit of hexediting and playing round with the files though.
