how to combine two DVDs?

I have several DVDs that I made years ago using DVD X Copy. This was early on when it required the movie be split into two DVDs. I'd like to find a way to combine the two disks into one and have yet to find something that works. I have a dual layer burner and want to know if I can burn one disk on one layer and the other disk on the second layer. Any ideas?

Here is a guide using PgcEdit to burn a DL disc inserting you own layer break.

However, DVD Shrink can accomplish this task and place your movie onto a SL disc with no problem. Rip both discs to HDD, then open DVD Shrink...go to reauthor mode->DVD Browse->select each disc individually and import to the left side for editing audio and subtitles. Click backup and burn with your favorite burn engine.

I tried using the reauthor mode and wasn't sure what I should transfer to the left side. I kept getting error messages and tracks that seemed to be in random order. Any tips?

For anyone else who stumbles upon this while searching for this answer, you can combine two tracks to a DL disc using the above instructions as well. The only extra thing you have to do is change the disc type under edit->preferences in shrink when you reauthor the disc.
