I'm creating several music to picture dvd's for graduations. I'm trying to find some newer 'life songs' to use. I'm not looking for something too sappy in fact I'd like more upbeat songs too. Looking for any suggestions or ideas. All welcome.

Well of course there's the obligatory
Green Day- Time of your Life
Vitamin C-Graduation
Uhm..Theme from Titanic/Bodyguard

But also...I've used
"Thank Heaven for Little Girls"
Just about anything by AC/DC
Jump Around...who is that, Cypress Hill?
Several good Norah Jones songs..."Come Away with Me" is good.
Strawberry Wine...but not for graduations
Cats in the Cradle...the Chapin version, not so much Ugly Kid Joe
"It's Raining on Prom Night" is a fun song
"Lobster Bucket" by the Aquabats is a funny song for friends
The Violent Femmes have several...Blister in the Sun of course.
Thicker than Water by H2O, if you like hardcore.
"Call to Arms" or "The Future is Mine" by Sick of it All, again hardcore.
"You Gotta Fight For Your Right to Party", by the Beastie Boys
"Imagine" by John Lennon makes a good montage, but it's overdone.

And..that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Jack Johnson's got a buncha good songs too, but he's pretty new to me so I can't give you titles off the top of my head. The On and On album has lots of goodies on it though. The White Stripes, as much as they're overplayed, have some good songs too. Doorbell is pretty catchy...

Thankyou for the suggestions. Have/do you done/do what I'm doing here? If so what program have you used to do it?

A couple times...and I just used powerpoint. It's not hard to learn it well enough to make a good slideshow, and adding music/video is easy.

The only difficult part for me was finding a LCD projector. And...then when I did, it was a rear projector and the old laptop they gave us to use had no way to flip the screen, so all the text was reversed.
