Hi I am new to this forum and I dont know if I put this topic in the right place so if I didnt sorry. I was wondering what is the best DVD burner with lightscribe for backing up DVD's?

It's not the HP 740b!

My Lite-On at 8x beats the pants off of it.

You didn't ask, but my opinion of LiteScribe is it's a lot of fluff. Media is expensive, etching (or whatever they call it) the disk takes a long time and I just prefer color labels.

ok then whats the best dvd burner for backing up DVD's? By saying best I mean when I backup a DVD what DVD burner will backup a DVD with the best quality and playing the DVD without skipping at all.

You are probably going to get a lot of different answers to this one. I can tell you that I have been using a Plextor 708 for several years and have never had any problems with it. I would imagine the newer Plextors are just as good and faster.

Many people love BenQ, Plextor, and Lite-on around these forums. Any purchase you make, be sure it is capable of booktyping/ bitsetting. You burn on a DVD+ type disc, and it automatically writes it as DVD-ROM like a store bought movie helping with better compatability wherever you play the disc.
