Help...can't adjust video settings in WMP

I recently re-installed some codecs (i'm not sure how that's related but anyway...)I now find that i can't adjust the video settings (hue,saturation,brightness etc)in Media Player,the sliders just revert back to center. I can adjust hue & saturation in the next tab over but not the main video settings.I have the Nimo50build7 codec as well as XVID. Has anyone else had this problem?
